14 March 2022mayannew2020I highly recommend Maison Orsini. After the confinement, all I could think about was escaping Paris. I needed space, relaxation, sunshine and the sun.... read more human warmth. I found it all at Maison Orsini, in its magnificent setting. Sleeping in a large comfortable bed between the arms of ancient stones, I found my happiness. After a delicious night's sleep, I ate a good breakfast on the terrace, gazing at the Palais des papes on the other side of the Rhône. This was followed by an exploration of Avignon, just a 20-minute walk away, or of beautiful Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. Tired and happy, I rejuvenated in the swimming pool surrounded by a garden in bloom. In the evening, the meal served in the restaurant crowned the day. The host was always ready to ensure my comfort, help me with bookings, give me information and share his passion for his country. The bonus-the stories he told me that enriched my stay so much. I'll be going back as soon as possible! More

The restaurant in the evening was a real treat. The best restaurant of our stay! It's a shame there's only cheese and one other dessert. A little chocolate sweet or something else would have been perfect, but that's just one detail.
It's a place to remember! You feel so privileged with this terrace and the view over Avignon, it's magical.

This former cardinal's livery is a haven of peace, where the scent of flowers blends with the calm of centuries-old stone.
And what about the breathtaking view of the Popes' Palace on the other bank of the Rhône?

The house has a restaurant on the same terrace in the evening, dinner was very good and sold out every evening of our stay. Breakfast on the terrace, complete with good bread. There is a car park available and it is advisable to reserve a space with the owner as it is not very large. He will be happy to park or take your car out if you wish. The swimming pool is on the other side of the road, hidden in a green setting, out of sight behind a large wooden door to which you will have the keys, as it is reserved for guests only. Our only regret is the absence of a little corner where you could relax with a small table and chairs in the evening in front of our gite, but the layout hardly allowed for this.
Ideal location as we could walk into the town centre and visit the various places around town.
Very pleasant stay.
